Why Choose Physical Therapy?

· Speed of Recovery
· Reduced Pain
· Restore Maximum Mobility & Function

If You Think Physical Therapy Is Something You Do ONLY When Your Doctor Recommends It,
Here’s What You May Be Missing...

New Guidelines Recognize The Effectiveness Of Physical Therapy
For Treating Certain Types Of Pain—Many Sufferers Now Try PT Before Drugs Or Surgery

As specially trained physical therapists, we wanted to share some news. Recently, the American College of Physicians and The American Pain Society announced new guidelines that recognize the effectiveness of Physical Therapy in treating back pain. In addition, a February, 2007 article in the Journal of the American Heart Association quoted Harvard professor Elliott M. Antman, M.D. to say that, “We advise physicians to start with non-pharmacologic treatments such as physical therapy and exercise, weight loss to reduce stress on joints, and heat or cold therapy.”
The news doesn’t stop there, as more and more physicians now recommend physical therapy as the fi rst step in treating common musculoskeletal ailments.
Many patients now prefer going directly to a physical therapist for persistent aches and pains before seeing their doctor. The therapist can provide an important evaluation that helps doctors determine the best course of treatment for their patient. For example, in addition to traditional rehabilitation programs, specially trained physical therapists provide relief for:
  • Back pain
  • Headaches
  • Chronic Pain, Arthritis, & Fibromyalgia
  • Dizziness, Vertigo, and Balance Disorders
  • Senior Fall Risk Assessment & Fall Prevention
  • Sports Injuries
A PT Helps licensed physical therapist has extensive training in protocols for evaluating and treating musculoskeletal ailments due to injury, as well as for restoring function through highly specialized rehabilitation programs. Our experienced therapists have seen a large number of patients dealing with similar issues, and can recommend effective strategies for overcoming even the most overwhelming physical obstacles that confront many patients.
